Beyond Europe

From Mexico to Egypt, these are the trips that took me beyond Europe. You’ll find travel stories, places worth visiting, and practical tips from my own experiences.

Low-angle view of an ancient Egyptian temple with massive sandstone columns and walls covered in hieroglyphs and carved reliefs, illuminated by warm sunlight beneath a partly cloudy blue sky.

The highlight of all was to enter the tomb of Tutankhamun – who is my all-time favorite in ancient Egypt – and his mummy was laying there in the sarcophagus…

Sunny tropical beach with golden sand, turquoise Red Sea waters, thatched palm-leaf umbrellas, rustic wooden railings and a few boats on the horizon under a clear blue sky.

Today I will tell you more about the Egyptian vibes I got during my trip, I have few stories about the lifestyle, and the Bedouins, and of course, the paradise island called Mahmya…

Collage of Playacar’s palm-lined beaches and tropical resort paths, Cancun’s turquoise Caribbean coastline and hotel skyline, and Valladolid’s colourful colonial streets, historic church and leafy town squares in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula.

One thing before we start this Mexican series: 3 days is fucking nothing in Tulum, Playacar or even Cancun. I wanted to chill and explore, not rush around squeezing in 680 activities. And even though I’m pretty good at organizing, 9 days in Mexico felt like absolutely nothing… and you’ll see why.

Chichén Itzá’s iconic El Castillo step pyramid surrounded by green tropical vegetation, with a carved Mayan serpent sculpture in the foreground and visitors exploring the ancient archaeological site under a blue sky in Mexico’s Yucatán Peninsula.

The Mayan history is mind-blowing – bit cruel here and there though… – but their ability to built all these mesmerizing buildings with all the tiny details with the echo and everything… crazy…

Tulum’s ancient Mayan ruins perched on a rocky cliff overlooking the turquoise Caribbean Sea, with a sandy beach, tropical vegetation and visitors exploring the archaeological site under a partly cloudy sky in Mexico.

No stalls, no shops, no souvenirs, no shouting… Nothing like it was around Chichen Itza… here all you will find is just the sounds of the jungle… And of course the most important photo op, next to the cliff with the ocean and the ruin in the back? Yea, I have my own now, but let’s leave that for the grand finale cuz it is breathtaking, for real….

Mexican meal on a wooden restaurant table with a fresh coconut and straw, a michelada garnished with lime, a bottle of Dos Equis beer, salsa bowls, lime wedges and a taco.

I got so fat in Mexico, I can’t even… Ahhh, anyway. Stick around – I’m about to take you on a massive foodie adventure!
