Let’s keep it easy and quick for today.
All I want to know is… What is your favorite travel destination, and why?
My frequent readers probably already know my answer to this question: Spain.
I fell in love with Spain – and the Latin American countries – at a very young age. My first trip ever to Spain happened like 11 years ago to the island of Fuerteventura. Then and there I was sure… I’m in love. The culture, the people, the language, the weather… not to mention the food!
Since then, I visited many parts of this beautiful country. I walked the Camino de Santiago, travelled to most of the islands and discovered a lot of hidden gems during my road trips. I just can’t get bored of Spain – all the regions feel different.
So, please… Leave your favorite city / country in the comments section! Let’s share some great travel stories, let’s discover, and maybe – just maAaaAybe – let’s put some new destionations on our “travelling bucket list”

See you at the comments,
Noémi

It always looks so magnificent. Hopefully one day! 🤞🤞
London and Paris…It’s a toss up for me.
Spain is amazing. I loved Barcelona and especially Madrid and there are so many more places I know I want to visit. I had a ton of fun in.Medellin Columbia. But my heart will always be in Paris 🙂 at least for now.
Colombia is on my bucket list too! …And oh yes, Spain has endless travel options 😊

Spain is really beautiful and the country has endless travel destinations 😊
Vienna, Austria. (And all of Austria, really.) We lived in Vienna for nearly a decade, and every time I return I feel as if I’m catching up with an old friend.
i love Vienna! I used to travel there a lot when I was still living in Hungary. And I used to work couple of winter seasons in hotels near Zell am See!
A little laugh! It is always the one I have just left.It is Portugal, in particular the Algarve and then narrowing down , the fishing village of Alvor.
Haha, actually it’s very true! Always the one we just left. Portugal is amazing. I loved Lisbon and Porto, also Sintra… The whole coast…. Amazing. Algarve is on my bucket list! Hope to visit soon!
Great coastal walking, kind people . Sunshine!!!
I guess I am lucky sharing the best two next to each other France and Spain !
perfect choices😊
Hawaii is my paradise 🌺😍
i can only imagine! 😍 I hope to visit Hawaii one day!
I hope to be back with my family soon. We were supposed to go last year but there was a setback. I dislocated my knee and it required surgery. I simply couldn’t limp around paradise 😭😭😭😞😞😞
I love driving from Lima to the high jungle region of Chanchamayo, a trip I do quite often. Eight or nine hours drive over the continental divide at 16,000 feet and then dropping down to the slow winding rivers and banana trees of the jungle. So many changes, from desert, high mountains and jungle all in one drive.
Sounds absolutely amazing 😍
My blog is Portugalia but before number 2 and 3 , Lortugal and Soain I rate Greece as number one!!!!
great choices! 😊 I can’t wait to visit Greece one day!
New York City!
Vietnam for exploring, and Maldives for relaxation.
But, there are so many possibilities…
oh Vietnam!!!! Yes, it’s definitely on my bucket list too!
Has to be UK, Cornwall, London, Southcoast, Yorkshire, Cathedrals, cycling in the Yorkshire Dales, Penzance, Lake District, Disley, We had a narrow boat on the Macclesfield Canal for a few years. Such beauty just walking on the tow path. The cozy pubs, horses, nature, birds, etc. my favorite place in the world!
oh this comment brought back some memories! I used to live in Manchester for a good 10 years and we used to go hiking to Lake district a lot, also peak district!
New Zealand has amazing natural landscapes and really vibrant cities. I enjoyed my time there.
definitely a bucket list destination 😍
Switzerland is one of places I enjoyed the most..
India is great 👍
For a relaxing island holiday, enjoyed Rarotonga and Aitutaki in the Cook Islands although a little off the beaten track.
I had to Google Cook Islands and oh my god it looks like paradise! 😍😍😍
This has brought on a post. I’m taking the liberty of adding a link https://dancingwithmagpies.wordpress.com/2025/03/20/cook-islands-rarotonga-and-aitutaki/
I can’t say I have one, but then again my travel destinations have been limited..
What was it like walking the Camino de Santiago?
honestly, it was one of the best experience of my life! You can read more about it here on the blog!
I love New Orleans, Louisiana.
New Orleans is probably calling me more than New York or LA or any of the other cities in the US. Hopefully I can visit one day… I love it since I was a kid and watched the cartoon called The Princess and the frog 😊
Dubai! It’s super safe, there’s a lot to do there. Just a great mega city. Turkey is another one.
Oh definitely! I have a trip pending to Dubai … Maybe this year!
Well, I can only speak to ones that I have been to so I will say Greece. Although I would love to go back to Italy.
Great choices! I can’t wait to visit Greece!
A lot of history! Fun stuff!
LOVE IT!
Honestly, I deployed to Baghdad. While I was going on a long-range mission, we passed by a 4,000 year old Ziggurat. My platoon stopped pulled security, and we all took time looking at and even touching the old structure.
That is one of the treasured moments of my life. Thankfully, I have it captured in a picture!
Thanks for the trip down memory lane.
.. and thank you for sharing this precious memory here 😊
It’s a hard one, but for me I think it has to be Scotland.
i had a road trip around Scotland! I loved it, the nature is amazing!
It’s Landour in Mussoorie
We also love Spain. We particularly love northern Spain, and our favourite city is Santander.
the north of Spain and breathtakingly beautiful! …. And sooo different than the south. This is what I love about this country…. Every corner is different!
Spain City of Love. The history is one thing I want to experience. The food everyone talks about the food. The arts, the culture and the people. The dance history. Maybe a Bull Fight maybe!!! Their spiritual retreats. Whatever the lord has for me.
Spain is truly an amazing country!
I’ve traveled all around the world but my husband and I always return to Hawaii’s Big Island. It is scenic and laid back and we enjoy the routines we’ve built up there over the years… familiarity can be a huge comfort at times when traveling! In another corner of the world, I enjoy sitting at the same cafe each morning when we visit my husband’s hometown on Croatia’s Dalmatian Coast every other year or so…
Hawaii is definitely a bucket list destination! And I love Croatia too, I used to travel a lot when I lived in Hungary!
Egypt and the pyramids!
Amazing place. It was my first big bucket list travel a few years ago. It was my dream to go there since I learned about it in history classes! Amazing…. 😍
This is a hard question.. I would say Europe. I know thats not very specific, but no matter where I am in Europe, I am so happy and free.
I have not traveled much, but I like our neighbor Kenya.
Kenya is a bucket list destination for me 😍
I e always loved Venice because I can see its majesty behind its old facades. The people are merchants all the way to their bones.
Me too, I loved Venice. It was my first Italian destination and it did not disappoint!
Cape town/South Africa
Kyoto will always be the place I want to return to I even wanted to live there, sadly it was not easy to obtain a visa such as working or business visa.
We visit the Delta l’ebro in Spain every year. It is a chill out place with lots of birds and cycle routes.
I had to Google this one, cuz I wasn’t sure where it is…. And now I put it on my Spain travel list 😊 thank for the recommendation!
I can’t narrow it down to one. I love the desert southwest and the pacific northwest
… and a road trip in between these two 😊
Yes!
Catalina Island, CA USA absolutely beautiful.
I had to Google this one, but it did not disappoint! It really is beautiful! Looks like a little coastal town in Italy or something like that!
Looking forward to visiting Bali, Indonesia
good choices! It’s pure paradise 😍
I absolutely loved my recent trip to Munich, Germany, thanks to PrestigeFly! The flight was incredible—comfortable, seamless, and with excellent service from start to finish. Munich was everything I imagined and more, with its beautiful parks, rich history, and vibrant culture. I spent my days exploring the city’s charming streets, enjoying the amazing food, and visiting historic landmarks. It was such a perfect mix of relaxation and adventure. If you’re considering a European getaway, I highly recommend flying with PrestigeFly to make the experience even more memorable!
I’ve been to Munich too a few years back. I thought it won’t be anything special compared to other European destination, but boy was I wrong!? It was so beautiful, it did not disappoint!
France, Japan.
British Columbia Pacific coast.
British Columbia is breathtakingly beautiful!
Japan with Vietnam coming in a close second for me.
I can only imagine 😍 both are on my bucket list, I hope to visit one day!
This is beautiful that you connected with Spain and are living there now. All the best!
For me it really is a dream come true 🙏
For me it is Great Britain. Mostly because there is a castle (what’s left of it) that bears my family name and is connected to my ancestry.
