Making my old posts shine again *** UPDATED

Sooo, since the blog is slowly crawling back to life and I’m experiencing a boom in new visitors, views, and likes too, I decided I would take you on a quick walk down memory lane and give my old, long-forgotten posts a bit of attention and love that they deserve too – so please, all you gotta do is click on the titles shown below and, you will be transferred straight to Fuerteventura, Paris, London, Mexico, Austria, Madrid, Croatia, Egypt… or a ghost town if you wish. I promise you will uncover some hidden gems…

At the moment, I have 71 published articles here but I bet you only saw the last like… 4, right? Naughty, naughty. Yet somehow, believe me or not, it all began back in 2018, march the 25th, with a post I couldn’t give a more creative title other than… *drumroll*

1st post… well something like that

Click on the title here in red letters… – I’m watching you this time 🧐 – and come with me now to Budapest, learn a bit more about me and my past, how I ended up in my “beloved” Manchester…

et cetera I guess, cuz the rest is history.

… Honestly, just as a side note quickly here, I don’t know why I got weirdly emotional reading this article now. Is this recap session is gonna turn into an emotional rollercoaster ride all of a sudden or what?

Canary Islands – Spain |  Fuerteventura

My first ever trip to Spain, where it all began, where I realized I am indeed in love with this country and everything it gives. Fast forward 6 years and minus 5 days and – …spoiler alert – I’m living here now.

Yo te contaré la historia de cómo España me robó el corazón…

Lost in the UK pt. 1 | Liverpool – Blackpool – London

A bit of London here for you, and some photo evidence that sometimes the sun is shining in England. Although the beaches are not really your ideal ones, with white sand and palm trees. It’s just mostly mud, pine forest, and super low tides.

And by low tide, I mean LooOoOow tide. This was our location when we went for a walk on the coast of Liverpool and decided to go close to the water… which was like a good 2 km away from the actual shore at that time.

Bonjour Bitches | Paris – France

Ahhh my first time in Pariii … and a quickie in Moulin Rouge, a Disney Land recap and face reveal.

Sister bond in Madrid – Spain

A long weekend in the Spanish capital, just in case, as a quick reminder of the fact that I still love Spain.

Lost in Egypt | pt. 1 and pt. 2

My first bucket list experience, and the first 2 part series – cuz yes, it was THAT much to tell about this trip.

Long Weekend in Lisbon – Portugal | pt. 1 and pt. 2

I think this was one of the best city breaks I had so far. Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais … and the end of the World.

Paris Mon Amour

The classics of the city … and of course some hidden gems for you.

Auschwitz and Krakow – Poland

Rab Island – Croatia

This is one of those “awww” moments here for you guys, because this trip was my very first beach holiday ever. Okay, I visited Sweden before but let’s face it Stockholm and the Baltic Sea are not really your white sandy beach with palm trees… But Rab Island? … oh yesss it is.

Soviet ghost towns in Hungary pt. 1

… Boo 👻

Poreč and Plitvice Lakes – Croatia

If you are ever in Croatia, don’t miss out on the Plitvice Lakes, for real. The colors there are just out of this world.

Rauris – Austria

“…the hills are alive… with the sound of muuuusic…” 🎵 – I’m not the only one hearing this song in my head now, right? I hope I stuck it in yours too, for the whole day!
This place is truly a winter wonderland and my very first home away from home. I was living, working, and exploring here for a good 6 months after university.

Let’s continue with a longer series, my Mexican adventure. From Chichen Itza, the beach, to tacos and oh god the Micheladas…

Mexican adventures Pt. 1 – Playacar, Cancun, Valladolid

… and this is the backyard

Mexican Adventures Pt. 2 – Chichen Itza, Cenote, and Tequila

If you look closer at this picture you see a shadow of a snake, right? Read this post if you wanna know the hidden secrets of Chichen Itza – for example how it’s also tweeting like a bird.

Mexican Adventures Pt. 3 – Tulum

Another bucket-list destination. And if I said earlier that Chichen Itza was mind-blowing, I’m not sure what I could say about Tulum… Go on, read about it, and decide for yourself…

The ultimate foodporn in Mexico

To make a long story short, I’m gonna leave this picture here, and after that, you can make your way to the actual post while you get ready to be hungry for a bit of Mexican tonight…

Caminito Del Rey – The most dangerous walking path in the world – … apparently

I promise, today it is completely safe – but not for the faint-hearted or those with a fear of heights!

Tenerife – pt. 1 | Climbing an active volcano

…it’s not every day that you are walking around on top of the clouds, on a 3.700-meter-high active volcano with the ground open and steaming next to your feet…

Tenerife – pt. 2 | from enchanted forests to rollercoasters

…wild, untamed black sand beaches, mountain peaks, dramatic rocks, lush green forests, incredible hiking trails, and traditional villages untouched by mass tourism.

Venice, Italy | Attenzione pickpocket, Attenzione borseggiatrici 🔊

There’s something about the canals, the bridges, and all those cute little boats that makes you feel like you’re in a dream – … just with a million other tourists in the same dream with you…

Mallorca | La isla Bonita – Natural Wonders

Mallorca is basically a postcard come to life. It’s the place you daydream about when you’re stuck at work, staring out the window…

Mallorca | Villages and local Flavors

Actually, the island’s most breathtaking spots aren’t even by the sea – ha! …They’re hidden in the mountains and valleys in some of the most picturesque villages you’ll ever come across…

        1. Back then when I visited Tulum was still okay. Many visitors, but controlled and it was still very much untouched nature. What was a disappointment to me is Chichen Itza and it’s surroundings. It felt like I’m in a flea market….

You liking my blog post this morning led me to your blog. A very nice one at that. Great design and scrolling through this post I see I have a lot of reading to catch up on. Quite the traveler, that’s great. How about a post about what you like living in Spain? How is it different from every other place you have lived? Also the cost of living there? Great blog, I will be coming back to read your new posts also.

Beautifully blog, Noémi! From time to time, I also like to update my old posts. I feel like my first ones need some polishing, too, which only means we’re getting better as time goes on!

  3. What a brilliant idea. For someone who dropped out of posting a regular blog and finds it difficult to ease back in, this sounds a great idea. So thanks for that. Thanks also for linking my post on Democracy Past and Present. These likes mean a lot.
