Let’s bake Tarta de Pera | easy Pear Pie

Oh boy, autumn. 🤎🍂🧡

Besides a cozy, warm bowl of soup or something apple-y and cinnamon-y there’s one more thing that screams autumn for me… Pears.
Pears…

…lot of pears and very little dough – just how I like it.

Okay, I guess, I don’t even have to waste more time with this intro here… So, there you go –
… today I have a super easy – super fast – and super delicious recipe here for you – because there’s always room for dessert, right? … Hombre, claro!
And I promise the longest step in the whole baking process is to wait for the pie to cool down a bit before slicing it up.

Ingredients:

  • 1 kg pears
  • 2 egg
  • 60 g flour
  • 60 g sugar
  • 30 g melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon of baking powder
  • Half a lemon juice
  • Peach or apricot jam
  • Cinnamon powder
  • Vanilla aroma

* These measures are for a 20 cm baking tin.

⏱️prep time: 15 minutes
⏱️baking time: 50 minutes
🌡️ baking temperature: 180°C

Easy pear pie recipe ingredients arranged on a countertop: fresh pears, flour, sugar, eggs, butter, cinnamon, vanilla, and peach jam.
  • So, let’s start with prepping for this adventure. Wash and peel the pears, and cut them up into thin, small pieces. Leave 1-2 pears on the side for decoration. Or if you want to feel extra autumn-y, you can decorate with apple slices later.
Thin slices of peeled pears ready to be mixed into pear pie filling.
  • Now, in a big bowl mix together the eggssugar, and melted butter, also add the cinnamon and vanilla for your own taste.
  • When this is done, slowly add the flourbaking powder, and pinch of saltMix it again, don’t worry it’s gonna be a bit thick.
  • Neeext: we are adding the pears into the dough and mixing it well together, again – big surprise, I know…

If you feel that the mixture is gonna be waaay too sweet, now it’s the time to add a bit of lemon juice – for your taste – I squeezed in half a smaller lemon.

  • Neeext: put baking paper in your tin, make sure the paper is in one piece so the liquid stays inside. Then, we are gonna pour our peary – doughy whateverbatterthisis into our baking tin – push it down a bit, make it even on the top, cuz the decoration layer is coming soon.
Pear pie mixture spread evenly in a parchment-lined baking pan before baking.
  • Neeext: we decorate. So let’s prep the rest of the pears – or apples – cut them up nicely, and put it on the top of our pie in a nice circle-ish kind of way, then brush the top with the peach jam.

… I don’t know how to place them nicely, but you get the idea.

  • Now in the pre-heated oven it goes at 180°C for a good 50 minutes – in my oven at least. Keep your eyes on it, let it bake until it’s getting a bit golden on top.
  • When it’s done, take it out from the oven – duh. – and brush the top again with a bit of peach jam, and let it rest for a while.

… and now we have to wait a few hours for it to cool down to room temp before slicing, unfortunately.

………..

Boom, here we are again a few hours later in the afternoon, right on time for a cup of coffee and a slice of fresh pear pie for merienda! Perfection.

… as I said, a lot of pears and a little moist dough

Give a bit of mmmh to me 🎶

I literally just ate a slice, but after these pictures I can’t stop eyeballing the leftovers in the kitchen …

Aaaanyways,

See you at the next one,

Noémi

  1. I love pears! I used to have a little dog and when I would get a pear to eat he would cuddle up on my lap to share. Pears are truly the forgotten fruit. I’ll be making this soon. BTW I love your creativity in laying out your pictures.
